#34 Bantering with Bill, Part 2

(Click on the title to hear the podcast or right click (option+click on a Mac) to download.)

Wherein I continue my discussion with Bill Erchul, Professor and guitarist extraordinaire. We talk about his use of the Line 6 Variax. For many years there have been many attempts to make a basic guitar sound like other instruments, through the use of Midi or synthesizers. The Variax is an attempt to make one guitar sound like dozens of other guitars, by digitally modeling actual guitars. Bill has set up his Variax with the 5 different guitar sounds he uses most on one switch, so he can easily switch from one sound to another. His five settings are: Gibson Les Paul, Fender Telecaster, Fender Stratocaster, Epiphone Casino, and Gibson ES175. He also has a Martin D-28 setup on his electric.
